Lucretia V. Gant is an Engineering Technology Instructor and Career Tech department co-chair from Chamblee Charter High School in the DeKalb County School District. She teaches Engineering Design Principles to 9th-12th grade students, where students apply the engineering design process as they complete design challenges in which they offer solutions to real world problems. She additionally sponsors extra-curricular Engineering Tech clubs including: Technology Students Association, Robotics, NSBE Jr. and SHPE Jr. She strongly believes in exposing students to Engineering and opportunities in STEM beyond high school and college.
Mrs. Gant is a member of many professional organizations including the National Society of Black Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers, the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, Association for Career and Technical Education, Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education, International Technology and Engineering Educators Association and the Georgia Engineering and Technology Education Association which have all had an impact in guiding the work that she does to provide rigorous and relevant learning experiences to students in the classroom and the community.
Mrs. Gant earned her BS degree from Georgia Institute of Technology in Chemical Engineering in 1996 and is now pursuing her Master’s in Educational Administration and Policy from the University of Georgia.
